Biography:

Adolfo Torrado (2 May 1904 – 12 July 1958) was a Spanish playwright, screenwriter, and author, best known for his highly popular comedies during the 1940s and 1950s. Born in A Coruña, Spain, he began his literary career as a writer for La Voz de Galicia and later established himself as a successful dramatist in Madrid. Several of his theatrical works were adapted for the screen, including Los hijos de la noche (1939), directed by Benito Perojo, and El gran Calavera (1949), directed by Luis Buñuel. He also wrote the screenplay for Botón de ancla (1948), directed by his brother Ramón Torrado. His plays were characterized by melodrama, humor, sentimental themes, and stories centered on humble or marginalized characters. He died in Madrid, Spain, on 12 July 1958.
