Stephanie Boyd Before arriving in Peru, she lived in Nairobi, Kenya, writing journalistic articles on human rights issues in Tanzania, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya. In her first years in Peru, she worked as a freelance journalist, publishing in alternative sections of NOW and Salon.com magazines, and writing reports for Newsweek and the Dallas Morning News. In 2002, she joined Guarango and became interested in filmmaking, leaving her job as a journalist. Her first experience was directing the award-winning documentary "Choropampa, The Price of Gold," alongside Ernesto Cabellos.
