Paducah, Kentucky, United States:
Sofia Voss is a writer, director, and editor whose Missouri heart currently resides in NYC. Voss strives to create a canon of queer Midwestern cinema, playing with expressionism and magical realism to create a tapestry of the social, political landscape of America’s heartland. She is also an avid genre enthusiast, using and abusing comedy, horror, and romance to make her films accessible and engaging. Sofia obtained her B.A. degrees with honors in Film Production and Art History from the University of Missouri and is a recent graduate of Columbia University’s MFA Screenwriting/Directing program. There, Sofia received the Alex Sichel Fellowship and the Leone Family Film Production Grant for her thesis short film DOOMSDAY.
