Known chiefly for his refined, "dreamlike" style, Tomiya Hills is a filmmaker based in Adelaide, South Australia. After completing his Bachelor of Creative Arts at Flinders University, Hills began studying film at MAPS film school in the heart of Adelaide. During his time at film school, Hills developed an interest in cinematography and camera operation. He has since put his skills to the test on his solo short film Vending Machine (2020), for which he received acclaim at various international festivals. Hills went on to collaborate with fellow filmmakers and students, including on the web-series The Reality of Humanity (2021), and short films such as Ingénue (2021), Marriage Graveyard (2022), and True Colour (2022) - the latter of which won Hills the Best Cinematography Award at the 2022 Creation International Film Festival.
