Sophie Hampson (she/her, Ngāti Huri, Raukawa) is an Aotearoa based filmmaker whose work is grounded in indigenous practice. Sophie values narratives that explore whakawhanaungatanga, the ins-and-outs of human relationships. Sophie’s latest two films, Ruru and Washed Up, have gained international success, screening at festivals such as imagineNATIVE, Māoriland Film Festival, CineYouth Festival, and Skábmagovat Indigenous Peoples’ Film Festival.
