Alex McCollum is a cinematographer studying Cinema and Television Arts & Computer Science at Elon University. Alex's preferred projects to work on are narrative ones, although he has been known to enjoy working on documentaries and commercials. In 2025, Alex moved to Prague and studied at FAMU. There, he produced and did the cinematography for "Night Shift," his most ambitious film to date. Shot on 16mm film in the heart of Prague, "Night Shift" has been the recipient of many awards, including "Best Mystery Short" at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. As the project continues to move through the festival cycle, Alex looks back on his time in Prague fondly. Now, Alex continues to study film at Elon University. He assists Elon's film club and Elon's BFA senior class by shooting narrative shorts. He also works at Elon's equipment house, The Gear Room, as the Team Lead of Operations.
