Biography:

Khryss Arañas is a singer-songwriter, music producer, and cultural worker from Naga City, Bicol whose work spans songwriting, film scoring, and theater music direction. His work across film and theater includes composing the musical score for the Cinemalaya 2025 finalist “Padamlagan” and serving as Musical Director for the stage production “Mga Aninipot sa Tahaw kan Salog (2025).” Primarily a progressive contemporary and alternative folk artist, Arañas moves fluidly across musical styles and creative contexts—from independent music production and performance to composing for narrative-driven works in film and theater. He is a pioneering member of Musika Publiko in Bicol, the forerunner of the Bicol Pop movement, and a fellow of the first Burabod Musika Bicol Songwriting Camp.
