Biography:

Sule Subaweh is a director dedicated to themes of locality and the adaptation of literature into film. Inspired by his childhood in coastal Madura, he is on a mission to effectively disseminate literary values through cinema, even envisioning a new genre called "Literary Film." Through the Jejak Imaji community, he has produced various works, from Ayat-ayat Rotan (2020) to his latest film, Apa Kabar Rindu? (2025). For him, film serves as a bridge to revitalize poetry and prose, making them accessible to a wider modern audience.
