Biography:

Yassin Elsheikh is an Egyptian self-taught filmmaker who began his journey in 2023 with nothing but a smartphone and a deep curiosity for visual storytelling. After watching countless YouTube tutorials and experimenting on his own, he directed his first short film "The File" - a raw, zero-budget starting point. Since 2023, he has made 14 short films, exploring different genres including action, suspense, and psychological drama. His work gradually evolved from early learning exercises to more controlled, atmospheric pieces. Among his filmography, "A Shadow's Trial" 2025 and "My Mind Is The Plague" 2026 — represent his strongest directorial achievements so far. Parallel to shooting, he attended film directing workshops and online courses, constantly refining his craft. His films have been officially selected in multiple editions of the Lift-Off Filmmaker Sessions (UK), as well as in the 6th edition of "Aflam Elmohawala Film Festival" at Cinema Culture Palace.
