Los Angeles, California, USA:
Maxim Talyan is a Poland-based Assistant Director working primarily as a Second Assistant Director, while also taking on First Assistant Director responsibilities. His professional focus is on developing clear production structures, maintaining effective communication between departments, and supporting the practical execution of the director’s vision. Before entering the film industry, Talyan studied at university and worked as a school teacher, conducting classes in video production and music. This experience shaped his ability to organize people, communicate information clearly, and remain attentive to both creative and logistical processes. After relocating to Poland, he began working on film sets, gradually building experience across different stages of production. His long-term goal is to establish himself as a First Assistant Director and take greater responsibility for scheduling, set coordination, crew communication, and the overall rhythm of production. His interest in filmmaking originally developed through skateboarding, when he began shooting skate videos and became interested in their distinct visual language and editing rhythm. His cinematic influences include Gummo, Fargo, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and film adaptations of Stephen King’s work, particularly stories that combine dark humor, tension, psychological complexity, and unconventional characters.
