Belo Horizonte, Brazil:
Sil Azevedo is a Brazilian-American filmmaker, photographer and educator based in Dallas–Fort Worth. His background in stills photography informs his aesthetic as a documentary filmmaker — contemplative, spare, and rooted in the slow-cinema tradition. His current feature documentary, I Am for Peace, has taken him across the world to hear from pacifists, activists, veterans, educators and humanitarians working for peace. At the heart of his work is a quiet, unsentimental belief: that small acts of connection can help build a better world.
