Jeff is a writer, screenwriter and director. He holds a Master of Film and Television (Filmmaking) from the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. His literary work has been published in Chinese magazines since 2014, and six of his stories have been translated into other languages. In 2018 he was named one of the Top Ten Chinese Writers of the Year by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He received the Gold Award of the Huacheng Literary Prize and was nominated for the Yu Dafu Literary Award. He wrote Love Never Ends, which was nominated at the Golden Rooster Awards. His project Wildflowers was selected for the FIRST International Film Festival Project Market in 2022 and subsequently for the Golden Rooster Film Festival. In 2025, Limited Confession won Best Original Screenplay Project and Most Promising New Talent at the Beijing International Film Festival.
