Jimena Chowell

Biography:

Jimena Chowell Tinoco is a Mexican production designer, art director, and producer working across narrative film and independent cinema. Her credits include production design for El Minthó Escarlata, The Overlook, Sofía Auza’s Adolfo, Perder el Piso, and They Came From the Clouds, as well as art direction on projects including Agua Rosa. Her feature debut as a production designer, Adolfo, premiered at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Crystal Bear in the Generation 14plus competition, before continuing to festivals internationally. In 2025, Chowell was selected for Berlinale Talents Guadalajara as both a production designer and producer, reflecting her expanding practice across the creative and producing sides of Mexican cinema.
