Ejecución inminente (1999)
Steve Everett es un periodista de investigación que tiene serios problemas: es un alcohólico que lleva sólo dos meses sin beber, pero es, sobre todo, un mujeriego impenitente. Este tipo de vida no sólo lo ha desprestigiado profesionalmente, sino que también ha arruinado su matrimonio. Encuentra una inesperada oportunidad de rehabilitación cuando le encargan una entrevista con un condenado a muerte en la víspera de su ejecución. A pesar de ello, decide investigar por su cuenta y ciertos indicios le hacen sospechar que el hombre que va a ser ejecutado es inocente. Sin embargo, dispone de muy poco tiempo para conseguir la información necesaria que haga posible el indulto e impida la ejecución de la sentencia.
