La vida sin Grace (2007)
Stanley Philipps (Cusack) acaba de recibir un pésame oficial: su mujer, soldado de primera línea en la guerra de Irak, ha fallecido por fuego enemigo. El mundo se derrumba y Stanley no puede permitirse ni llorar: tiene dos niñas. Amigos, conocidos... todos opinan sobre cómo darles la noticia a las pequeñas. Al final, lo mejor va a ser llevárselas de viaje, peregrinar juntos a uno de esos paraísos infantiles llamados Parque de Atracciones. Tal vez, entretenidas, felices por lo que les espera, sufran menos al saber que su madre ha muerto. Pero la ocasión no acaba de presentarse, y Stanley se come su dolor, disimula, esquiva preguntas, inventa historias para ellas, anticipa el consuelo... Y a él, ¿quién va a consolarlo?
