La pequeña pícara (1991)
Curly es una pequeña huérfana a la que Bill Dancer ha criado e intentado educar. Pese a lo mucho que la quiere, Bill espera encontrar para ella un buen hogar, con padres adoptivos de los que recibirá el cuidado y la educación que él es incapaz de proporcionarle. Sin embago, para Curly, Bill es toda la familia que ha conocido desde pequeña, y piensa que no necesita a nadie más. Con él vive moviéndose constantemente de un lado para otro, y esta vida errante que llevan le parece extraordinaria, aunque a veces, para sobrevirir, tengan que realizar alguna que otra pequeña estafa. La víctima de la última, en Chicago, es la joven fiscal Grey Allison, quien les invita a su casa como huéspedes temporales. Con el paso de los días, y una vez superadas ciertas dificultades, el improbable trio empieza a perfilarse como una futura perfecta familia.
