Deathwatch (2002)
1917. Primera Guerra Mundial. Frente Occidental. Más de un millón de soldados aliados y tropas alemanas se enfrentan en el páramo en que se han convertido las antaño floridas llanuras del norte de Europa, cubiertas ahora de barro y sangre, y envueltas de un aire fétido e irrespirable, que huele a gas y a muerte. Esta tierra maldita es ya la tumba de centenares de miles de jóvenes. El soldado Charles Shakespeare (Jamie Bell) y otros ocho soldados británicos buscan refugio en el complicado entramado de las trincheras alemanas. Charles tiembla de miedo. La muerte le rodea, los cadáveres ametrallados de los que hasta hacía poco habían sido sus mejores amigos cuelgan como polichinelas abandonados sobre el alambre de espino.
