Situada al margen de la majestuosa casaca Victoria, en el corazón de África, existe la increíble ciudad de aves de Zambezia, liderada por el sabio veterano Sakhuru (Leonard Nimoy). Nuestro joven héroe, el halcón kai (Jeremy Suarez) deja su remoto paraje en contra de la voluntad de su padre (Samuel L. Jackson) para unirse al prestigioso grupo de voladores de defensa "Los Huracanes", entrenados ferozmente por Ajax (Jeff Goldblum) para patrullar los cielos y mantener a Zambezia a salvo.
