Apartamento para tres en Echo Park (1985)
May (Susan Dey) es una madre soltera que, desde su hogar en el barrio de Echo Park en Los Ángeles, sueña con llegar a ser famosa. Para poder llegar a fin de mes, May trabaja en un bar de striptease y alquila una habitación a Jonathan (Tom Hulce), un compositor que sobrevive repartiendo pizzas y que no tarda en enamorarse de ella, aunque May sólo tiene ojos para su vecino culturista (Michael Bowen). El trío traba una fuerte amistad, que les ayuda a superar las decepciones que sufren cuando sus aspiraciones por llegar a Hollywood se ven frustradas. Pero los celos de Jonathan amenazan con hacer peligrar la única auténtica familia que todos ellos poseen en Echo Park.
