Kyle Williams creía que encargarse del puesto de sheriff en la tranquila ciudad de Bywater sería exactamente el cambio de vida que necesitaba. Aire fresco, paz y calma, una ciudad a la que los autóctonos denominaban orgullosamente "el paraíso de los amantes del pantato" parecía ser el lugar perfecto. Pero la plácida ciudad no es lo que parece. Mientras investiga una serie de espeluznantes asesinatos, Kyle descubre que los nativos esconden un escalofriante secreto.
