El fiel capitán de la guardia Jaller y su mejor amigo, el impulsivo y aventurero Takua, emprenderán un emocionante viaje para encontrar al séptimo Toa, un misterioso guardián que les ayudará a proteger su isla, Mata Nui. Guiados por la Máscara de la Luz y gracias a la ayuda de los otros seis Toa, estos valientes compañeros deberán vencer al poderoso amo de la sombra, Makuta y a sus malvados discípulos, los Rahkshi. Jaller y Takua no pueden fallar, ya que si pierden, la isla de Mata Nui estaría condenada a la oscuridad eterna.
