Antígona (1992)
Basada en textos de Bertold Brecht y en las traducciones al alemán realizadas por Friedrich Hölderlin de textos de Sófocles. Antígona, hija de Edipo, se opone a Creonte, el tirano rey de Tebas, por imponer la prohibición de hacer ritos fúnebres al cuerpo de Polinices, hermano de Antígona, como castigo ejemplar por traición a su patria. Antígona pide a su hermana Ismene que le ayude a honrar el cadáver de su hermano, pese a la prohibición de Creonte. Ésta se niega por temor a las consecuencias de quebrantar la ley. Antígona reprocha a su hermana su actitud y decide seguir con su plan...
