Alex Manning y sus amigos deciden visitar el salón recreativo local conocido como "Dante's Inferno", donde el director ejecutivo de una empresa informática está probando un nuevo juego de realidad virtual llamado "Arcade". Sin embargo, pronto se hace evidente que los adolescentes perdedores son aprisionados en el mundo de la realidad virtual por el villano principal, "Arcade", quien se apodera de sus mentes.
