Un príncipe en América (1988)
En un pequeño pueblo de Pennsylvania, Rupert Marshetta (Keanu Reeves) es el miembro rebelde de una -aparentemente perfecta- familia de clase trabajadora encabezada por sus padres, Gary (Fred Ward) y Pam (Bonnie Bedelia). Pero Rupert no está muy dispuesto a ser parte del idílico sueño americano; con su impactante corte de pelo y su actitud pasota, no está por la labor de seguir los pasos en el duro trabajo de su padre en las minas de carbón locales. En vez de eso, persigue a Carla (Amy Madigan) una antigua y atractiva ex-hippie propietaria de un negocio. Para conseguir dinero y mantener a su familia unida, Rupert y Carla deciden entonces secuestrar a Gary, y que su madre pague el rescate. La sorpresa es que Pam... no quiere a su marido de vuelta.
