La escena del crimen (1949)
El teniente Mike Conovan (Van Johnson) es un detective de homicidios que investiga el asesinato de un ex compañero cuando llevaba encima 1.000 dólares en efectivo. Su objetivo es disipar la teoría de que el policía muerto estaba secretamente en complicidad con los delincuentes. El rastro de Conovan conduce a una stripper, Lili (Gloria DeHaven), cuyo ex novio Turk (Richard Benedict) ha cometido una serie de robos a los corredores de apuesta de la ciudad, junto con su socio Lafe (William Haade)
