A la luz del fuego (1998)
Inglaterra, 1838. Para poder pagar las cuantiosas deudas de su padre, una hermosa institutriz acepta ser madre de alquiler y dar a luz al hijo de un anónimo hacendado inglés. Según lo acordado, nada más nacer da al niño en adopción. Siete años más tarde es contratada como institutriz de una niña en un remoto paraje de Sussex. El padre de la niña, Charles Godwin, resulta ser el anónimo terrateniente.
