Dublineses (1987)
Es el día de la Epifanía de 1904 y está a punto de comenzar una de las celebraciones más concurridas de Dublín, la fiesta de las señoritas Morkan. Entre los invitados se encuentra Gabriel Conroy, sobrino de las anfitrionas y marido de Gretta, una de las mujeres más bellas del país. Es una noche maravillosa y los asistentes disfrutan de una magnífica velada. Gabriel, enamorado de su esposa, la contempla detenidamente cuando suena una antigua canción de amor. De vuelta a casa, Gretta le confiesa que aquella canción ha despertado en ella el recuerdo de un amor de juventud, que se vio truncado por la muerte del amado. Nunca antes le había contado a su marido esta historia.
