Nueva versión de la película de Joseph L. Mankiewicz de 1972, interpretada entonces por Lawrence Olivier y Michael Caine.En esta revisión Jude Law interpreta el papel que interpretara hace 35 años Michael Caine, y el propio Michael Caine le da la réplica en el que hiciera Lawrence Oliver.Un hombre de avanzada edad, amante de los juegos, pone a prueba el ingenio del joven amante de su mujer en lo que se convertirá en una desafiante y sorprendente competición.
