En esta ocasión, contada desde el punto de vista de María Magdalena (Dorothy Cumming), antigua cortesana al servicio de los romanos que es redimida por el amor de Jesús (H.B. Warner). En 1961, Nicholas Ray hizo un remake con Jeffrey Hunter en el papel principal.
