En 1818, Mary Shelley escribió «Frankenstein, o El moderno Prometeo», una novela poderosa e intemporal cuyo eterno tema no es otro que la búsqueda por el hombre del secreto de la vida. Desde entonces, la Criatura se convirtió en un icono de la cultura pop, eclipsando a la novela y al propio doctor Frankenstein.
