Jean es un tímido camarero de un gran hotel que se hace pasar por multimillonario ante Irène, una bella cazafortunas. Ella le rechaza en cuanto descubre quién es en realidad, pero Jean, enamorado de ella, se lanza en su búsqueda hasta encontrarla en la Costa Azul.
