Faya Dayi (2021)
La película es un viaje a las tierras altas de la Región Harar inmerso en los rituales del khat, una hoja que los musulmanes sufíes mastican para sus meditaciones religiosas cuyo cultivo es en la actualidad el más lucrativo de Etiopía. A partir del comercio de esta planta, la película teje un tapiz de historias íntimas de personas atrapadas entre la violenta represión gubernamental, las fantasías inducidas por el khat y los engañosos viajes más allá de sus fronteras, ofreciendo una oportunidad a los sueños de los jóvenes que anhelan una vida mejor.
