El despertar de un ángel (1990)
Un viejo coche por las carreteras de Montana. En los asientos delanteros, un muchacho de dieciocho años con ganas de ver mundo y a su lado, una joven que ha visto demasiado. George Russell (Dermot Mulroney) vive en un desolado pueblo de Estados Unidos. Supadre es un tipo duro y extraño, y su madre, cansada, ha decidido abandonarlos. Una descarada chica aparece en la ciudad. Su nombre es Lucy (Lili Taylor). Hace mucho tiempo que se fue de casa, y a pesar de su juventud, lleva mucho vivido. George y Lucy se conocen y en seguida conectan. Ella le cuenta que se dirige a Wyoming para sacar a su hermano de la cárcel y George, sin saber muy bien porqué, se ofrece a llevarla. Comienza así, una excitante aventura en la que compartirán experiencias, inquietudes, ambiciones y cientos de kilómetros.
