Dexter Cornell llega moribundo a una comisaría para denunciar su propio asesinato. En su declaración recuerda todo lo sucedido a partir del suicidio de uno de los alumnos de su clase de literatura, y describe todos sus intentos para averiguar la verdad y encontrar al asesino.
