Adam Richard Sandler, conocido más bien como Adam Sandler, es un actor nacido el 9 de septiembre de 1966 en Nueva York. Hijo de Judy Sandler, enfermera y Stanley Sandler, un ingeniero eléctrico, son de procedencia rusa y judíos. Tiene también tres hermanos, Elizabeth, Valerie y Scott. De pequeño, se crió en la localidad de Manchester, en el estado de New Hampshire. Ya desde pequeño apuntó maneras como bromista y cómico, algo que desvelaría su futuro como cómico profesional. Se decidirá por ese camino cuando fue estimulado por su hermano para actuar de forma amateur en un club en Boston. Sus números cómicos fueron recibidos con gran entusiasmo por parte del público que asistía a sus funciones. Mientras seguía con sus shows cómicos, a la vez también estaba estudiando Arte en la Universidad de Nueva York, en el que se graduó en 1988. Dio el salto como cómico en Los Ángeles a finales de los años 80. En un local fue descubierto por Dennis Miller, que consiguió que los miembros del archiconocido programa estadounidense 'Saturday Night Live' se interesaran en él y le contrataran como intérprete y guionista. Empezó a salir con la empresaria de cosméticos Margaret Ruden en 1989, hasta 1999. Su salto a la pequeña pantalla le valió el cariño de la audiencia nortamericana. También debutó en la gran pantalla en la comedia 'Going Overboard' en 1989, escrito y dirigido por Valerie Breiman. En los años 90 adquirió aún más fama en sus intervenciones en títulos como 'Los Caraconos', en 1993, 'Cabezas huecas', en 1994, 'Billy Madison', en 1995, 'El chico ideal', en 1998, o 'Un papá genial', en 1999. En esta década, también produjo discos de humor como 'They're all gonna laugh at you!', en 1993 o 'What's your name?', en 1997. En 1996, Sandler estuvo con la actriz Alicia Silverstone, con la que rompió poco tiempo después, en un momento en el que rompió con Margaret Ruden, con la que volvió y terminarían nuevamente en 1999. A principios de los años 2000, también apareció como protagonista o secundario en títulos como 'Litte Nicky', en el año 2000, 'Punch-Drunk Love', en 2002 o 'Spanglish', en 2004, en el que compartió escenario con la española Paz Vega. También fue destacable su papel protagonista en 'Click', en 2006, en la que podía manejar su vida con un mando a distancia. También fue destacado su papel en 'Os declaro marido y marido', en 2007, filme protagonizado no obstante por Kevin James. En junio de 2003, se casó con la actriz Jackie Titone, y tres años después nació su primera hija, Sadie, y, en 2008, su segunda, Sunny. En el año 2003 se casó con Jackie Sandler (Jackie Titone), actriz estadounidense de cine y televisión. Se conocieron en el set de rodaje de la película 'Un papá genial' de 1999. La pareja ha compartido escenas en diferentes películas después de esta, como en 'Niños grandes' del año 2010. Tienen dos hijas: Sadie Madison Sandler y Sunny Madeline, nacidas en 2006 y 2008 respectivamente. Destacó su irreverente papel también en 'Zohan, licencia para peinar', en 2008, en el se llenó de polémica al interpretar a un excéntrico peluquero israelí antiterrorista. También ha participado en 'Sígueme el rollo', en 2011, 'Jack y su gemela', el mismo año, 'Juntos y revueltos', en 2014 'Hombres, mujeres y niños', el mismo año, y 'Píxels', en 2015, en la que interpretaba a un jugador de videojuegos que lucha contra alienígenas.
