James McAvoy es un actor de cine y teatro escocés. A lo largo de su carrera ha participado en numerosas películas como el drama ganador de un Óscar Expiación, el filme de aventura y fantasía The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe y en el drama El último rey de Escocia, el cual está basado en la novela homónima de Giles Foden. En el 2003 apareció en la miniserie de ciencia ficción Hijos de Dune, en el 2006 tuvo una participación secundaria en la comedia romántica Penelope y en el 2007 interpretó el papel de Thomas Lefroy en el drama romántico Becoming Jane. También desempeñó el papel protagonista en Wanted, con Angelina Jolie, película de acción dirigida por Timur Bekmambetov, y la cual está basada en el cómic homónimo del autor Mark Millar. También fue protagonista en la película de 2011, X-Men: primera generación como Charles Xavier, papel que repitió en sus secuelas X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) y X-Men: Apocalipsis (2016).
