Richard Franklin Lennox Thomas Pryor fue un comediante, actor, director de cine, crítico social, satírico, escritor y maestro de ceremonias estadounidense. Pryor era conocido por sus análisis rigurosos del racismo y otros temas de actualidad, empleando vulgaridades y blasfemias, además de epítetos racistas. Conectó con un amplio público gracias a sus agudas observaciones y su estilo narrativo. Es ampliamente considerado como uno de los comediantes más importantes e influyentes de todos los tiempos, recibiendo elogios de comediantes notables como Jerry Seinfeld, Bob Newhart y Bill Cosby.
