Kenny Carlson a été condamné à deux ans de prison pour vol à main armée. Agé à présent de vingt-deux ans, Kenny vient d'être libéré sur parole. Sa mère, Sharon, espère que son fils va, enfin, pouvoir se stabiliser et reprendre une vie normale. Elle fait tout pour que son retour à la maison se passe le mieux possible.
