Emmett veut nettoyer et retourner la maison de sa mère récemment décédée : entrer, sortir et éviter tout traumatisme persistant depuis qu'elle l'a abandonné lorsqu'il était un jeune enfant. Anya, sa fiancée, y voit une opportunité de forcer enfin Emmett à faire face à son traumatisme car elle pense que cela l'empêche d'être le partenaire dont elle a besoin. Alors elle le convainc de prendre des champignons pour qu'il lâche prise. Mais quelque chose d’étrange se produit pendant qu’ils trippent : elle commence à se comporter comme sa mère. Le lendemain matin, il se réveille sobre, mais elle ne lâche toujours pas l'acte... Anya adore jouer à des jeux – est-ce qu'elle va trop loin ? Ou est-ce que l’esprit de sa mère la possédait d’une manière ou d’une autre ?
