Lorsque Grace vient vivre avec sa fille et son gendre, elle est impatiente de trouver un moyen d’être utile dans la communauté. Elle aime lire des histoires aux enfants, et décide d’en lire une sur la télévision publique. La réponse est si forte qu’une grande entreprise en entend parler et lui propose une série télévisée. Sa vie devient compliquée car elle est forcée de prendre des décisions sérieuses. À travers tout cela, Grace est capable d’aider une jeune mère à réaliser que le temps est le cadeau le plus précieux qu’elle puisse offrir à sa fille.
