Irene (1940)
assistant de tapissier Irene O'Dare rencontre riche Don Marshall alors qu'elle est la mesure de chaises pour Mme Herman Vincent dans sa propriété Long Island. Charmé par la jeune fille, Don anonyme achète Mme Lucy, une boutique exclusive de Manhattan, et demande gestionnaire nouvellement embauché M. Smith à offrir Irene un emploi comme un modèle. Elle attire bientôt l'attention de socialite Bob Vincent, dont la mère est l'hôte d'une balle à la demeure familiale. Afin de promouvoir la ligne de robe de Mme Lucy, M. Smith organise pour ses modèles qui seront invités à la soirée.
