Avec les yeux du coeur (2003)
Joan enseigne à l'Iowa Braille School, un institut pour non-voyants très réputé. Son mari, Jim, exerce également dans l'école. Au cours de préparatifs pour une conférence sur les papillons, elle croise le chemin de Cory, un ami de lycée qu'elle n'avait pas revu depuis des années. C'est à ce moment qu'elle commence à ressentir des troubles visuels. La jeune femme se rend compte qu'elle ne parvient plus à distinguer les couleurs. A l'hôpital, on lui apprend qu'elle souffre d'une dégénérescence de la rétine rarissime, un mal irréversible. Malgré l'aide de son mari, elle a de plus en plus de mal à supporter la situation...
