L'ex-mari de Sarah, vient de sortir de prison. Il y a été enfermé un an pour l'avoir attaquée et laissée pour morte. Depuis, Sarah n'arrive plus à écrire ses romans. Pour l'aider à faire face à ce syndrome de la page blanche, sa meilleure amie Alice lui prête sa maison de vacances en bord de mer. C'est là que Sarah fait la connaissance de Tony.
