Croupier (1998)
Jeune écrivain en mal d'inspiration, Jack Manfred accepte, sans grand enthousiasme, la place de croupier que son père lui a dénichée dans un casino londonien. Efficace, habile, en un mot doué, il impressionne ses collègues et son patron mais ne parvient pas à s'intéresser à son travail. Marion, sa compagne, accepte mal sa reconversion : elle trouve qu'il galvaude son talent. Cependant, au fil des nuits, Jack glane d'intéressantes idées pour son prochain livre. Un jour, il fait la connaissance de Jani, une belle Sud-Africaine qui ne tarde pas à lui tourner la tête. La belle le convainc de participer au cambriolage du casino...
