Mon homme Godfrey (1936)
Pendant la Grande Dépression, alors que les bidonvilles s'étendent dans les terrains vagues, les riches continuent à faire la fête. Comme ce soir-là où la haute bourgeoisie s'est lancée dans une excentrique partie de chasse au trésor où le gagnant sera celui qui rapporte non pas un objet précieux, mais quelque chose dont personne ne veut. C'est ainsi qu'Irène, l'une des filles de la famille Bullock (famille qui ferait passer les patients de l’asile d’Arkham pour de charmants participants d'une convention Tupperware) ramène un sans-logis qu'elle exhibe, triomphante, à la party. Godfrey devient le protégé d’Irène qui lui offre un emploi de majordome... Mais on dirait que c'est celui que l'on surnomme « The Duke » qui tire les ficelles du jeu...
