The Hi-Lo Country (1998)
Apres la guerre, Pete et son ami Big Boy reviennent à Hi-Lo, Nouveau-Mexique, où ils ont mené jusqu'au début des années quarante la vie traditionnelle des cow-boys et des petits fermiers. Leur monde a bien changé et le temps des petits exploitants est révolu. Refusant de travailler pour le plus grand propriétaire de la région, Jim Ed Love, ils s'associent à Hoover Young, qui leur offre une chance de préserver leur style de vie et leur indépendance. Mais Big Boy a une liaison avec Mona, la femme du régisseur de Jim Ed Love, que Pete convoitait en secret.
