23 ans d'absence (2012)
En juillet 1987, à Harlem, Joy met au monde une petite Carlina qui fait la joie de toute sa famille. Le même jour, dans le Connecticut, Ann subit une troisième fausse couche. Elle décide alors d'enlever un enfant et de l'élever comme le sien. Seize ans plus tard, la jeune Nejdra a besoin de son certificat de naissance pour s'inscrire à son tour à la maternité. Elle réalise que sa mère lui cache quelque chose. Elle lance sa propre enquête et découvre au bout de quelques années qui sont ses vrais parents.
