Abbie Bladecut est une adolescente déchirée entre les traditions macabres du commerce sanglant de sa famille et les tendres remous de son premier amour. Dans la petite ville de Clover Falls, Roger, le père d'Abbie, s'est forgé une réputation tristement célèbre en enregistrant des meurtres réels et en les vendant à des clients enthousiastes.
