Bill est le scénariste d'une série à succès. Il a toujours privilégié sa carrière, et sa femme l'a finalement quitté, emmenant avec elle leurs deux fils. Adriane est une épouse comblée mais lorsqu'elle apprend qu'elle est enceinte, tout change : son mari refuse l'enfant à venir.
