Il n'y a pas d'homme plus dangereux que Kwagga Roberts. Bien installé dans sa savane, il exploite le touriste-pigeon, lui extirpe ses devises après une séance de pose avec un lion "féroce" empaillé depuis longtemps. C'est un roublard, un commerçant rusé, le fils adoptif de cette contrée perdue dans la corne de l'Afrique. Son existence paisible faite de petites combines et de rencontres avec une tribu pittoresque subit l'arrivée d'un nouveau contingent des troupes de l'O.N.U basées dans le coin. Dans cet effectif : une jolie blonde et un officier prêts à tout pour s'approprier un énorme diamant englouti dans l'estomac d'une autruche...
